'All things Pink', as the title would suggest is a show dedicated to the artist’s favourite colour - pink.
Every shade of pink imaginable has been used to create a collection of works that share a softness and femininity no matter what the subject.
Renee is known for her delicate floral works and like many of her previous shows (‘Poppies in Bloom’, and ‘Wallflowers’ in 2003, along with ‘Untitled’ in 2004) they prove to be her main subject matter.
However, in this collection, Renee also showcases new subjects, which she associates with the colour pink.
From children's portraits, to butterflies and ballerinas, this show is truly ' all things pink'.
Pinto’s style is truly complementary of her background in detailed artistic mediums.
After the completion of her high school art and drama studies, Renee began a Diploma in Photography before settling in a career in the entertainment industry where she worked as a Professional Make-up Artist.
Four years later she began showcasing her artworks whilst maintaining her theatrical studies.
After returning from a stint in New York where she studied at The Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute, Renee held her first solo exhibition of oil paintings ‘Poppies in Bloom’ in Balmain, Sydney.
Following these successes, Renee made a striking return with ‘Wallflowers’, an exhibition of oils and photography at Blender Gallery in 2003 and in 2004 with ‘UNTITLED’ at Blender Gallery, a body of work definitive and encapsulating to her world of beauty.
In 2005 Renée has returned with ‘all things pink’ a body of work incorporating pieces which all show softness, created by the use of colour, simplistic subjects and clean lines.
Her works have a way of capturing the viewer, entrapping and transporting the body and mind to a calm, tranquil place.
‘All things pink’ an exhibition of new works by Renée Pinto opens at Blender Gallery on Thursday March 17th 2005 at 6pm. The exhibition will continue until Tuesday 5th April 2005.
